How to make your LinkedIn profile gorgeous?

LinkedIn has been able to reach a huge audience and become a meeting place for talent and businesses (830 million members with over 58 million registered companies). It is the largest network for finding job contacts in the world, which no other job search site can compete with. Like in any other social network, it has its own rules of the game. So let’s look through some basic guidelines which can help you to revamp your profile. > Create a strong photo This is not the place where the nice cat in the profile photo will be a good idea. Make your facial expression to be captive and represent your style. You can be serious / calm / friendly / energetic / self-confident or creative; you can smile or don’t use it, — it depends on your character and goals. But make it yours, quilitative, put your face in the center of the frame, choose a non-distracting background, and:

  • increase your profile visibility by 21 times;

  • and the number of connections by 9 times.

Follow the examples:

> Create a unique title This is the information that goes under your profile name and aimed to describe in a few words your vision and role in the world of companies. No need to dublicate your position here. Imagine that you come up with your own motto to present yourself. Main requirements: make it you, catchy and quick. Your photo + title = the first impression about you in LinkedIn. Example to follow:

> Design a resume Show people why you should be added to the network, what makes you interesting and what your expertise is. Share your achievements at work, and describe your goals and aspirations. Here are some types of descriptions:

  • Professional one — important dry facts and strict formal descriptions.

  • Sole of company — while reading the story, you get facts about his / her skills and life twists and turns.

  • Funny one — this is where creativity lives, you’ll feel this energy and ingenuity.

  • Spirited one — makes company culture one of the centerpieces of his brief and inviting summary.

> Get recommendations This is the most viewed part of the profile, where you can prove your words with evidence. One of the most common implementations of this advice is referrals from former colleagues and executives, as well as asking them to confirm your skills. Recommendation shouldn’t be as a copy paste template. It should also represent the character of а recommender. It may describe the story or challenge you had together, and how did you overcоme it.

> Bonus tip Show your presence and create a content. Participate in professional discussions (try to avoid negative or rude comments) and create your own content based on experience and interests. You can also use other platforms for publications and share the information on Linkedin. From our experience, we can say that most of the contact between recruiters and candidates takes place on Linkedin, and the perfect match is possible only after some preparations from both sides. Pay attention to the design of the profile, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the result.
